Terms and Conditions @ Jot Jot Boom
Oh, hey! If you’ve landed here, it means you’re interested in learning more about working with me. No problem, love. I’ve laid it all out, so you know what to expect!
Any and all work undertaken with me and my company is subject to these terms and conditions, whether it’s a one-off project or an ongoing retainer.

Changes and revisions
It’s rare for a first draft to be bang on, so I expect to make edits and tweaks to the copy I submit. Because I charge by task or by project, I build revisions into the quotes I give. Every project or task includes:
• Initial delivery of a complete copy document
• One round of edits (changes to 10% of copy, under the existing brief)
• One round of tweaks (tiny changes to existing copy here and there)
This only applies until the work has been signed off, published or put to work on a live website. After that, no more changes can be made under that particular job or project. It’s finito!
I’m happy to offer more rounds of changes and edits, but it’ll be charged separately at £60 per hour.
Copyright
As the writer, copyright of my work stays with me until I receive the full and final payment we agreed. Once you’ve crossed my palm with silver, the copy and the copyright belong to you. Use it wisely!
Deadlines
I’m a ridiculously organised individual (you should see my Filofax!) and hitting deadlines is my jam — in fact, I’m usually early. Having said that, I can only start work once I have what I need from you, be it a brief, a deposit, feedback, additional resources etc. I can’t be held responsible for a missed deadline if you’re running late on anything we’ve agreed. All’s not lost, though — we can push the deadline back or renegotiate a rush fee for the work.
I also can’t be responsible for deadlines missed due to circumstances beyond my control: illness, personal emergencies, technological disasters, or Godzilla running loose in London. For example.
Payments
For projects, I’ll invoice for 50% of the total fee up front and will only start work once the payment is received. After that point, payment is due at each agreed milestone or on final delivery of the first draft — whichever we’ve agreed!
If I haven’t received feedback or comments within two weeks of submitting a draft to you (at any stage - the initial draft or subsequent edits), I’ll assume you’re happy the work has been completed and I’ll send my invoice.
I’m not registered for VAT and my payment terms are 30 days. I charge interest per day at 4% above Lloyds Bank plc base rate on any unpaid balances from the due date until payment is made in full.
Be a mate and pay on time!
Cancelling contracts
Sometimes, shit happens. You might need to cancel our contract or postpone
a job until further notice. If this happens, I’ll retain your down payment and
might potentially charge a ‘kill fee’ to cover any extra work I did before the
contract or job was cancelled.
If we were working on a task, I’ll charge for work completed unless we’ve agreed otherwise.
